The Rambha Palace has historical importance not only for Ganjam but also for whole Odisha. This beautiful palace is situated on the bank of Chilika Lake. This beautiful palace was built by Thomas Snodgrass, then Collector of Ganjam in 1791-92 on Government expenditure. European engineers and our local craftsmen were engaged for its construction and beautification. After few years Rambha Palace was purchased by king Rama Krushna Mardaraj of Khallikote to be used for his residence. 

Over the past century, the palace witnessed visits by prominent figures like Lord Curzon, Mahatma Gandhi, Lal Bahadur Shastri and Jawaharlal Nehru. A spot marked by a Konark Chakra is the site where the very first meeting to form a separate Odisha province was conducted around 122 years ago. 

Rambha Palace has a team of sixteen chefs who can fusion up a vast array of cuisines. From local Odiya delicacies to Japanese, Peruvian and Thai Delicacies, the options are as diverse as they are exquisite. With Lake Chilika and the coast nearby, seafood is a constant highlight. Fresh catch of the day featured in every meal: grilled bhetki with mustard sauce, plump prawns, crabs and tilapia prepared Odia-style. Rooms: 16 Rooms ( 8 Palace Suites, 6 Orchard suites and 2 Presidential Villa) There are 16 suites on the property: Eight Palace Suites housed within the main building; Eight Orchard Suites located in the adjoining wing, which once served as an ice mill and generator room; and the Presidential Villa with two suites and its own pool, situated in a secluded area across the expansive lawn. In the 18th century, the Royal Suites on either side of the piano room served as the private quarters of the king and queen.
