Now The Belgadia Palace is the residence of the current Maharajah Praveen Chandra Bhanjdeo (47th ruler of the Bhanja dynasty), the queen of Mayurbhanj Rashmi Rajyalaxmi Bhanj Deo, the queen mother Bharati Rajya Lakshmi Devi and daughters Mrinalika M Bhanj Deo and Akshita M Bhanj Deo. Mrinalika and Akshita are social entrepreneurs and Directors of The Belgadia Palace and its philanthropic arm The Mayurbhanj Foundation.

The house has many great books. There are old antiques of the bygone era. Little bits of history are there in each corner. The Dining room has a beautiful old world charm, and the food is yummy well made home food.
