Day 01: Bhubaneswar Arrival
Arrival at Bhubaneswar airport, meet & Greet, transfer to hotel. Pm visit to temples of Bhubaneswar: Rajarani Temple, Mukteswar Temple, Lingaraj Temple, Vaital Tample. Over night at Bhubaneswar.
Day 02: Bhubaneswar – Konark – Raghurajpur Heritage Village – Puri
Morning transfer to 13th century Konark Sun temple, the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the architectural skills & exquisite carvings are unique in nature. After lunch visit Raghurajpur Heritage Village ( Craft-men Village), where entire community is busy in making Patta Chitra (Miniature Paintings) on small cotton cloth driven by religious themes & stories. Generally stories of Lord Rama, Lord Krishna, Devi Sita, Devi Radha usually depicted on specially made cloth. They are painted with natural & bright colors. Locally painter is called Chitrakar. They live in Raghurajpur & nearby villages which are very close to Puri. Visitors can all so witness Gotipua Dance at Raghurajpur Village, this is the local folk dance & mother of Odisha dance. Evening at Puri Local market, experience papier mache & Shell works at local shop near Jagannath Temple. Overnight at Puri.
Day 03: Puri – Pipli Village – Cuttack
Morning drive to Pipli Village: the Applique village of India, best known for gorgeous appliqué work. The appliqué works is a traditional way of patching cloth design & the local language is called “Chandua”. The craft persons involved in the process of cutting colored cloth into shapes of animals, birds, flowers, leaves, gods, goddesses & other decorative motifs & stitching all of them together in very traditional way. Then visit Itipur, near Dhauli, this is the little village where villagers makes beautiful stone sculptures. Then Transfer to Cuttack, the past capital of Odisha to witness the Silver filigree work ( Tarakasi ). This is a little town where more than 80 families are engaged in this work. These world fomous artist are famous for their intrinsic craftsmanship. Overnight at Cuttack.
Day 04: Cuttack – Nuapatana Weavers village –Manaiabandha Weavers Village – Anugul
Morning visit Nuapatana textile village, the village has a distinct place in the map of Indian textiles, their TIE & DYE patterns popularly known as “IKAT”. Then visit Maniabandha Textile village. Evening visit to Sadeibareni Dhokra craft village, at this village all craftsmen uses indigenous method of brass metal. Overnight at Anugul.
Day 05: Anugul – Sararpalli Weavers – Sonepur Weavers – Balangir
AM transfer to Balangir, drive to Sagarpalli weaving factory of Silk & Cotton, experience the traditional design, development, processing, talk to weavers. Then drive to Sonepur to visit master craftsmen to sea dying process, ingredients, different fabrics pattern & pocket looms etc. Overnight at Balangir.
Day 06: Balangir – Bargarh Weavers - Sambalpur
Am drive to Barpali, the village of Tassar Silk & Cotton weavers. These sarees are known for their incorporation of traditional motifs like Shankha ( Shell), Chakra ( Wheel), Phula ( Flower) which are very symbolic in nature. Later drive to Bargarh to sea the Bandha work by the weaving society. Waiver of Bargarh, Barpali & Sonepur excel in weaving sarees in their own traditional pattern, its always a treat to watch these weaver communities such as bhulias, Kostas, Gaudias creating intricate patterns on fabric. Evening transfer to Sambalpur. Overnight at Sambalpur.
Day 07: Sambalpur to Bhubaneswar
Am Drive to Bhubaneswar, visit tribal museum. Over night at Bhubaneswar
Day 08: Bhubaneswar & Departure
Morning transfer to Bhubaneswar airport for onward journey.
